That’s it, we were met at Stergigova! Thanks to the small team of the weather station, people with a big open and pure soul! Such an attitude is the rule for the tundra: here a person is really a friend to a person, a friend and a brother. There are too few people in the Arctic, meetings are too valuable. This is one of the reasons that the “Northern Troopers” do not lay absolutely new routes: every year they are expected in towns and villages, at polar stations. And when you are expected – you can not deceive.
The aroma of freshly baked bread sharpens feelings: they miss the house, where each of us is loved and waiting. In the interview before the start, the team stressed that they always experience two things – the long-awaited start day, and the day you return home.
Пережидаем на метеостанции метель, которая к обеду сдает свои позиции. Прощаясь с работниками метеостанции, договорились встретиться через год в добром здравии. Проехав чуть более 50 км останавливаемся на ремонт: меняем ремень вариатора на одном из снегоходов. Идем до поздней ночи. Под светом фар видимость лучше, чем днем. Погода делает нам подарок, снегопад отступает. Северное небо освобождается от облаков и вдоль всего горизонта видимости заполняется звездами. Мы наблюдаем северное сияние! Это ни с чем не сравнимое уникальное природное явление завораживает взгляд. Свечения бывают разной интенсивности, от чуть видимых проблесков, до заполняющих всё небо ярким светом вспышек.
Немного отдохнув, продолжаем движение. Температура -17С, ветер 5м/с, ясно. Сегодня будем на Диконе.
