With the weather, the whole day was blizzard. Several times stopped and put the tent, tk. It is impossible to move in conditions of zero visibility. Far after midnight we get to the village of Tazovsky. The film crew of the local TV channel did not wait for us, left, deciding that, taking into account the weather conditions, we will arrive in the village not earlier than in the morning. We are greeted by colleagues and friends, we load machinery into special vehicles and gather in the living room of a small departmental hostel.

The next expedition has come to an end. Tomorrow we will be at home. Sincerely we congratulate each other, though in soul there is a regret that the journey has ended. An expedition is a road to something extremely complicated, but very important. First of all, this is the fulfillment of the tasks assigned by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Russian Geographical Society.

And secondly, it is an ode to the mighty power of military friendship. A real male friendship! Remember the words of Suvorov – “Die yourself, and help your comrade”. The words of the legendary and invincible commander forever became the motto of Russian soldiers. Without support and absolute trust, it is impossible to achieve the tasks set. Having passed more than one expedition in this structure, having experienced a huge number of complex stages of the route, our team and our friendship are a hundred times stronger, more solid.

In each interview, we emphasize that we are beginning to prepare for the next expedition immediately upon return. In just 341 days (yes, 341, we counted) the next expedition “Northern landing 2017” will start to launch. This year, the acting officer of the GRU special forces joined the Northern Assault expedition, and the next year two more military groups with their tasks can join the expedition.

And we will again find ourselves in the most severe places on the planet, in the places where the largest icebreakers in the world are passing and breaking the thickest ice in the world. They leave behind a field sharp as the teeth of hummocks, they grind the suspension of snowmobiles, tear resistant steel springs. They leave for themselves a polynya long in tens and hundreds of kilometers. And the biggest predators – polar bears, leave their traces here. And we are compelled to bypass these ice rivers, losing time, fuel, forces. These places were called once, a country of icy horror. Here life and death, everything is real. That’s why we’re here.

WE ARE THE NORTH DESANT!
