Already today the participants of the Arctic expedition “Northern Troopers” are finishing their last preparations for the next, eighth trip to the snow-covered and harsh regions. This time, one of the active officers of the center of special operations of the RF Armed Forces will join the travelers. It is planned to pass, at least, three thousand kilometers with the fulfillment of certain tasks.
Just a month ago, the exercises of spetsnaz officers under the direction of the Northern Assault were held. Having visited our territories, the military made the main idea – to stay in the Arctic should be approached with all seriousness. As it turned out during the exercises, the staff uniform of the soldiers was not reliable enough, and the diet, in spite of all the experience gained in hot spots, became a revelation for them.
Thanks to this interaction in transferring the experience gained over the years, the elite of our troops now possesses the necessary information that remains to be fixed by practice. And if the situation does not change, next year the military will go with the “Desant” to the vast expanses of the Arctic, where the theory will be implemented.
“In addition to the unity with nature and the fulfillment of the intended goals, in expeditions we collect routes of local residents, reindeer herders, hunters, fishermen, our own and compile a single database. Imagine how valuable this information is for our special forces or the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who will not be able to get there by helicopter in such harsh conditions, for example, to save people. This is expensive, “- said Alexander Peterman, head of the expedition” Northern Troopers “.
In the meantime, in a special technical box, all snowmobiles have been carefully sorted out, all innovative solutions have been applied, the provisions have been collected, fuel and the command of the “Northern Paratroopers” are completely ready for another sortie that will start the other day, in mid-March.
